Thursday 8 April–Saturday 1 May 2010
The Sunshine Coast is home to diverse and ingenious architectural design that responds to our culture and climate. In 2010 the USC Art Gallery in association with the Australian Institute of Architects, presented the Building Milestones Exhibition along with the 2010 Sunshine Coast Architecture Awards nominations. This exhibition curated by Dr Phillip Daffara celebrated significant contemporary buildings awarded by the Institute between 1985 and 2010 and their architects. These milestone buildings have contributed to the character of the Coast and continue to influence place making today. Participating architects in the 25 year retrospective include Rex Addison, Graham Bligh (BVN); Lindy Atkin and Stephen Guthrie (Bark); Lindsay and Kerry Clare (Architectus); Tim Ditchfield (Middap Ditchfield); Ken Down (Core); John Mainwaring (JMA); Geoffrey Pie; Gabriel Poole; Robert Riddel; Dan Sparks; Shane Thompson (BVN); Don Watson (Project Services); Elizabeth Watson-Brown; Hamilton Wilson and Con Zahos. |
