Montessori International College - Adolescent Cluster - (Repurposed buildings from former campus)
The first stage of the Secondary School involved the relocation of four buildings (totalling 685sqm) from Sippy Downs. Building 5 (DGLA), Building 7 (Barn), Building 9 (Pavilion) and Building 8 (boomerang shaped DGLA) from the former campus. These lightweight, steel and timber framed buildings were rearranged and re-purposed to form a learning cluster for the interim secondary school and a multi-purpose arts space for the whole college.
The cluster was organised to ameliorate the traffic noise from Maroochydore Road as well as provide a distinct territory where the Adolescent community may exercise custodianship over their learning environments and productive land.
Many initiatives are being designed and implemented by the Adolescent Community including weed management, vegetation rehabilitation, productive food gardens, and broad-scale farm revitalisation.
