MIC Multi-purpose Learning Commons

The spatial programme of this multi-purpose learning commons is simple – a room that offers adaptability whilst being shielded by the projected traffic noise of Maroochydore Road. Its strategic location on the Master Plan provides a learning commons available to both the primary and secondary schools. The main room addresses the:

• pedestrian link between the two sub-schools;
• north to optimise natural daylight and to offer views to existing vegetation regrowth.

The skillion roof and double height multi-purpose room harvests natural daylight and facilitates ventilation from in-floor vents as well has collect rainwater for reuse.
