Montessori International College - Secondary School Science Lab
PlaceSense provided architectural services for the design and delivery of the secondary school science lab. The project involved alterations and additions to an existing award winning building within the campus (DGLA). The science lab designed to National School Lab standards allowed the College to seek International Baccalaureate accredition for its secondary school science program.
The conversion of the general learning area to lab respected the design principles of the orginal build including:
simple non-toxic palette of materials;
exposed structural system; and
natural daylight harvesting.
The lab also required the addition of a neutralising tank for waste water.
